This software solution sets in motion two lenses that are positioned in the right angle for a detailed image. An operation that takes about 0.5 to 2 seconds for the 'processing can be taken into consideration nine frames to reach the optimal result. Now Apple has filed a new patent ... it is a simple algorithm able to greatly improve and speed up the function of auto focus camera. Taking advantage of special calculations of light the camera will immediately identify certain details in the background and give the right level of exposure.
Of course the camera phone may not be as fast as that of an SLR, but a faster autofocus may allow photos faster.
